I have just over a hundred rounds in the Ruger M77 and so far my foulers have been spot on.
One thing I've noticed with my Hawkeye, it likes a clean bore. I was narrowing down a node for 85gr sierra with varget.
3 loads tested; 36.9 gr, 37.2, & 37.4.
Each load was tested with 4 shots, the first of each being a fouler on a separate target. With each load the bore was cleaned. The results.
My fouler group was .5" lower than the fouled group, the group size for the fouler was .207" c-c. The other groups were,
36.9 charge =1.407"
37.2 charge = .701"
37.4 charge = .471"
the groups were 3 shots each at 100yds
