I have an M77 mkII VT in 22-250. I believe it's a fairly common rifle so hopefully someone has had my issue already. I bought a Sightron SIII 6-24x50mm to replace the Bushy 1" tube scope it has been wearing for years. Sine the new scope is a 30mm tube I needed new rings. I bought two #5 high rings. Well, unfortunately I didn't take notice that I needed two different height rings (front to back) as the M77s mount points are at different levels. Ruger lists a 5 and a 6 for 50mm objective scopes. I placed an order for a 6 on MidwayUSA which has back ordered from 3/6/13 now to 4/2/13.
My question is will a 4 in front and a 5 in back fit the mkII VT with the SIII scope? Or am I stuck with needed a 5/6?
