They hold their value pretty well, there is a bunch of old school Ruger followers who love the M77R. The new MKII is just an upgraded Winchester. I know the original walnut stocks for the R go for $200 easily. A year ago I paid $450 for one in 30-06 for my son and the stock had an inch cut out of it so that it would fit a smaller shooter but it was mint.
I am trying to make a decision to see if it is worth keeping or to sell and use the money on a new 308. It has the walnut stock. If it is worth $500 or so I will part with it, I am sure a new one is a little more and I have this silly mindset that the manufacturing back 30 + years ago may have been a little better. I haven't figured out how to post pic's yet and have to take some updated pic's too. Serial # 77-65XXX
