Ruger Precision Rifle in 260 AI?

I am about to pick up an RPR and seriously considering a barrel in 260 AI, the 40 degree version. Does anyone have any knowledge as to the feeding reliability with that chambering in that rifle? Thanks.

Your certainly free to build whatever you like, but the 260 AI does not yield much improvement over the regular 260 Rem. At best you'll gain about 75 FPS, shorten your barrel life ( 4.5% more powder down the spout to gain about 2.25% more velocity), and then you have to fireform cases to get those marginal gains, which again will shorten your useful barrel life as an AI. I really don't see the attraction.....

I would recommend a 6.5 Creedmoor and be done.

Not same caliber but I agree, I went down the Akley road before with a 223 Trainer and all the extra brass prep and fire-forming not worth the squeeze. Looks good on paper but not in practice.
