Ruger precision rimfire re-chambering?

I'm super interested in the ruger precision rimfire, but having a hard time deciding between 22lr and 22wmr. I'm curious if I can get the 22 wmr and then buy a 3rd party barrel to swap to 22lr at a later time?
I would imagine the bolt and action are identical, just a different barrel and magazine.

Thoughts or suggestions would be well apreceated. I'm mainly looking for something to practice with, without hammering my 6.5creedmoor, so this rifle will be matched with decent glass. I like the idea of the longer range of the 22wmr.

Get a cz 457, they are made to swap barrels like you want.

Buy a Ruger you will love it. They are never ending money pits. As far you saying you imagine the bolts are the same. You are right you are imagine it. Stay as far away from a RPR as you can

By the time you spend extra on a Ruger you can buy a CZ or Tikka. And have less trouble

As already mentioned go with a CZ or Tikka. Ruger is a decent rifle but out of the box CZ and Tikka win hands down.

You guys are making me re-think my plan! I want a target and plink around 22, help with general training for my center fire long range.

Sorta thinking the T1x now, 30moa rail, and vortex diamondback tactical 6-24x50.

I'll be searching for a used chassis or watching for something cheeper as this pushes my budget already.
