<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-size: 14pt">RULES for the SH 100 to 300 Yard Rimfire Competitions</span></span>:

(revised JAN 01 2012)

1. This is open to all SH Forum members.

1.a. <span style="text-decoration: underline">Any smallbore rimfire </span>caliber is welcome.

1.b. The Course of Fire (COF) for each Match will be will 25 rounds.

2. We will use the A-21 Target for the 200 Yard Paper Match, and the TQ-4 Target for the 100 Yard Paper Match. Both Targets can be purchased from; http://www.pistoleer.com/targets/ or a dealer of your choice, or use the printable versions in the link below. For the "Lucky 7" match, targets are only available on the printable target link below.

<span style="color: #FF0000">Free Printable Targets, same dimensions as comercially available for all targets used. Set up to use 8.5" X 11" printer paper, and to save as much ink as possible</span>

PRINTABLE TARGETS - SH Long Range Rimfire Competitions

2a. We will use a 2.5 and 3.5 inch round disc for the "100 Yard Gong Match" and a 5 inch round disc or 5x7 inch rectangle for the "200 Yard Gong Match". An 8" disc for 250 yards, and 10" disc for 300 yards. They can be made of metal, or simulated on paper as shown on the "grayed" area on the targets on the printable targets, or drawn by shooter, as long as the measurements of the gongs / discs are equal to to the designated gong / disc size used at the appropriate yardage explained in the match description section below.

The combination targets of scoring rings and simulated gongs may be used (at the shooter's option) for either or both of the matches and also be used to post a score for BOTH the scoring ringed targets and gong matches, essentially shooting two matches with the same 25 rounds. Or if the shooter prefers, they can use either of the 2 100 yard multiple gong targets. One is 2.5" and the other 3.5", five of them on the target. You can split up any number of rounds you wish on each gong, as long as they total the maximum that the match allows at the time (<span style="font-weight: bold">presently 25 rounds</span>).

<span style="color: #FF0000">FOR ALL OF THE MATCHES</span> - The butt of the rifle must be supported in your shoulder without any aids such as lock'in devices or sandbags, (though locking in with a sling is permissable). This Rule is for both "Prone & Bench" shooting. The use of a Bi-Pod, Sandbags, Backpack, etc. to support your rifle's barrel / <span style="font-weight: bold">forestock</span> is allowed.

3. You may use as many targets as you choose for your course of fire, (25 rounds), or you may use one target and score/repair target as needed. Target Pasters or masking tape may be used to repair targets. Just be sure to score your target first before repairing it.

4. Matches will be shot from the designated position outlined below in the Match Description.

<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="text-decoration: underline">SUPPORT SIDE OPTION</span></span> (06-03-2010) - An extra / optional "Support Side" match in addition to the usual matches, where if you usually shoot right handed, you shoot it left handed. If you shoot left handed, you shoot it right handed. When posting, add SS to the match description competed in.

5. In addition, there will be four (4) Classifications;

a. Class - O [Open Iron Sight]
b. Class - A [Aperture Sights]
c. Class - S [Scope - There are no restrictions on power]
d. Class - L [Laser]

Listing Manufacturer, model and power not necessary, but may be helpful as a "who's running what gear" reference. Questions on said gear should be addressed in personal messages or a seperate thread so as to more easily compile the monthly scores.

6. SCORING: Paper targets are scored by point value of ring. If you "Break" a scoring ring line, the higher point value should be scored. Gongs are scored by how many times you hit them out of 25 shots - 25(hits) of 25(shots). The "X" count will be hits on the black center (1" on 100yd and 2" on 200yd) and used as a tie breaker when points are equal or the number of hits on the gongs are equal.

7. Posting your score(s):

Everyone taking part should post their score(s) in the following manner:

NAME: John Doe
MATCH: 100YB-5RD
CLASS: S 3-9 TASCO
CALIBER: .22LR
RIFLE: Savage Mark II FVT
AMMO: Federal 711B
SCORE: 25 of 25 7X

NAME: John Doe

AMMO: Federal 711B
SCORE: 250 - 7X

(If a new thread hasn't been posted by mid month, please start a new thread with the month, year, and SH 100 to 300 YD RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS in the subject line.)

8. You may shoot as many of the matches as you want in a given month, but only 1 score per match. For example, you could shoot and post scores for a 100 yard TQ-4 shot from the bench and one from prone as they are two seperate matches, but you can't post 2 different scores for the same TQ-4 both shot from bench or prone as it would be the same match.

9. In order to make it easier for whomever is compiling the results at the end of the month, please post any questions or comments NOT DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE POSTED SCORES in the learnings thread. "Atta boys", pointing out any corrections or changes to scores are permissable. Anything else should be moved over to the learnings thread.

10. <span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold">POSTING A PICTURE OF THE TARGET IS NOT NECCESSARY, BUT HELPFULL TO DETERMINE MATCH WINNERS OR TO USE THE PHOTO AS A "LEARNING / TRAINING / COMPARISON" TOOL.</span></span>

11. <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-size: 14pt">The most important rule</span></span></span>: Have fun and learn a thing or two. Develop skills or training, and share a common intrest with other shooters. This is YOUR competition / match, all opinions count to help improve the matches; however any changes or additions will be made by a majority decision.

WOOHOOOOOOOO That is what i am talking about! Thanks TP for bringing all these fun games and awesome setup to learn and challenge our selves with. You sir rock!

BYW FYI lot of the target links are broken in the target thread. Don't see where the lucky7 one is either. Thanks

Re: RULES - SH 100 TO 300 YD RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

thanks for the heads up, you had me panicked there. i found this was the older link, when we added a couple extra targets and such, it was old enough that i couldn't edit it.

so i created a new thread, i have the proper link in the "printable target" link in the header but not in the rules section.

thanks for the heads up, i'll swap it out now.
