Run-N-Gun [Centerfire Biathlon] kit - What do you run?

Run and Gun DMR was fun. Weather wasn’t an issue, maybe a low 80s for the late runners.

Match was well laid out and flowed well. ROs had their stage briefs locked in tight and two guys in glass when we were shooting any kind of distance or obscured targets. Props were set up very well. Overall very well put together.

The challenge was finding the targets. No berms and some painted (likely all but they got beat up over the day) made finding the targets in a sea of weeds and trees challenging. Combine this with 90-120 second or times and it was challenging.

I took a chance running the 6 ARC and it bit me. (Was not needed either) Even after the testing good last week I had bullets slipping loose and I had to mortar the last round out every stage. Four stages I needed to put together a cleaning rod and punch the bullet out of the lands. It cost me a lot of time. Maybe as much as 15 minutes clearing the rifle and getting packed back up to run.

That, and not being ready to run hills, was totally on me. I could have and should have done much better. Not sure I could have improved on my shooting much , but I could have had a solid load/rifle and a better VO2 Max.

Valuable lessons.
