ran across a russina match rifle see the markings NoH 636 on it at the top of the front of action. the rear of the action made in ussr. on the left side of the action it has been stamped (davidson's greensboro,Nc) just wondering if any one could tell me approximate value and are these guns shooters or junkers?

Re: russian 22 what is it

H636 is likely a serial number. I did quite a bit of shooting
with russian .22 rifles in my younger years, but cannot recall
H636 being the rifle model number. You didn't provide any other info, which makes it impossible to answer you question. Look for Model number, it should be also stamped onto receiver.
In general, if this a match rifle, is in working order and made in the USSR, it got to be a very good one.

Pics would help. Try Rimfire Central in the RUSSIAN section. There are a ton of CM-2's floating around these days.

Re: russian 22 what is it

As I remember, most of Russian rimfires and airguns are Match/FT/Target oriented. Some of them are as expensive as Anschutz and FBW. Those that I have shot in the past were super accurate. There are of course much cheaper models that will shoot just as great as stock Rem. or Savage.
