Guys,

The S&B 10x42 PM II and Leupold MK4 10x40 LR/T M3 Mil Dot (M24 SWS scope)are priced similarly. Has anyone had any experiences with these specific scopes, and if so which is the better of the two and why?

I have the S&B 10X42 PM II and it is the best scope in my stable (all S&B's). It is very very clear and it has more than enough adjustment to do anything you want it to do. I may purchase another one to put on my long range hunting rifle.

Go with the S&B and don't look back!!

I have 2 of the 10X S&B's and had 2 of the 4-16x42's. Sold one of the 4-16's and kept the 10x's. I have only shot them to 650.
There is .2 to .3 parallax at 100 but as long a your cheek weld is consistent, it's not an issue..

For my money, I agree with Buckey, they are the best bang for the "buck". Mil/Mil, tracks perfect and exceptional glass. What else could you ask for.

What Buckey said...that 10X PMII is bullet proof...13 mils of elevation. I've shot both of mine out to 1200 meters with no parallax probs. One on a .308 the other on a .257 Weatherby.

I have both and like both. However, if I were to pick one to keep it would be the S&B without question. Their quality and durability is outstanding.

Guys,

Thanks for all the reviews, looks like the S&B 10X PM II is the winner here. Will 10X be sufficient for long range shooting, specifically 1000 meters or will I need more magnification?

I use an USO ST-10 (10X Power) for a lot of 1000 yard work. It is adequate, but I would go with something with a little more power if I had to do it again.

if all you are going to do is the longer range stuff....I would reccomend a little more magnification. If you plan using it mainly for 2 to 6 hunderd yard stuff and occasional 800 - 1K yard, definitely a good choice.

I have a Lupy 10X and 2 S&B variables. I would say that dollar for dollar, I would go with the S&B but I really like my lupy....

You will always get a bettr resale out of the S&B. FWIW
