Greetings fellow annihilators of steel.

Just got my new scope in and started research as to what mount. I want the AI Picatinny mount in 18moa but have read it requires some milling (which I can't do). Also read that the 45moa version will work out of the box but 45moa really isn't needed.

Question is what mount to get? Spuhr looks nice but the price is more than I want to spend when there are other quality rings that are less expensive.

If Badger / Seekins / Other - what height would work for each?

I have searched and found little information that answers this specific question.

Your advice as always is appreciated.

A-

You should be able to pick up a mount from Tac Pro or Mile High that is already milled.

You are going to want some cant. Nothing wrong with the 45 moa. You will still get a 100 yard zero w/o issue. I have an extra one you can try before you buy. Rings only are a no go.

I would stick with the AI offerings. Strong, effective, simple and cheap.

I recently put the same scope on my MKIII. I went with the 18 MOA factory mount from Mile High. They do the milling in house and refinish the mount. It looks great.

Although, it is my understanding the 45 MOA mount does not require milling. So, you would save the milling cost.

Perfect! Thanks E! Think I will just get the 18moa then if Mile High has them milled already. Thanks for the offer to let me check it out... We need to go shooting again soon... Moved to Easton Pa, a bit closer to you.

Thanks for the comparison Bravo!

Well its one way to make a non pined ar legal. Just move to pa, I had a couple in MI that I could not bring to NJ so just move to Pa and make em legal. Nice huh!

Yup, thinking cans for brakfast, lunch, and dinner... Can't just have one and it is so tiresome switching from gun to gun... Must have one for each
