For those of you that have actually got to try out both models (Maybe Rob and Mike perhaps?):

I've been anxiously awaiting the release of the 3-20x PM-II. After all this time, it still isn't out and there's no definite release date.

I do like that it was 6 oz less than the 5-25 and can be mounted much lower.

The eye-box appears to be bigger, which would be very nice.

However, the more I think about it, rarely will I be using the bottom end anyway, except for hunting.

Through all the waiting and price increases, would going with the 5-25x be a better option? This scope is going on a 6.5x47 Lapua. 16x is definitely not enough magnification. I'm using this rifle for modified F-class, hunting, leisurely shooting, and perhaps will be using it in tactical matches. The rifle is a fairly handy rig and the barrel is currently being chopped down to 22".

Tyler I have got alot of time behind the 5-25 but no range time with the 3-20. You pretty much hit the differences. Honestly for what you are doing the 5-25x will work great.

Thanks for the reply, Rob. I mainly don't want to "settle" on the 5-25x56 and feel left wanting more. I may just go ahead and order a 5-25x. The extra 5x on the top can't hurt.

Pretty sure "settle" and S&B shouldn't be allowed int he same sentence LOL

I have never felt slighted by any of my 5-25s. Pretty sure you won't either.

HAHA yeah, just not sure about massiveness of the scope, but it shouldn't be any worse than my 5.5-22x56 NF.

Which I could afford both. Maybe some year...LOL.
