Folks, I just received my new S&B PMII 5-25x56 MSR reticle in the mail last week. Yesterday I went to mount it and I just cant help but come to the conclusion the reticle is canted some 3 to 4 degrees.
I am mounting the scope on a GAP 338 build and when I mount scopes I usually use playing cards to level the scope to the mount. I have also checked the scope with feeler guages and it always is off cant 3 to 4 degrees. I have also leveled the rifle and leveled the scope and the reticle is still off.
I am not new to this and have mounted several scopes and have not had this problem before, so I'm looking for any assistance or thoughts.
On the flipside of this, the glass is wonderful and I am very happy with this purchase. So any thoughts would be appreciated.
UPDATE
I'm actually going to retract my comments and this thread. I have been sitting here playing with this thing the last few hours and am no longer sure its the scope, rather I'm wondering if my eyes are playing games on me. My wife is adament its level and when I look through the scope with my non-dominant eye it appears to possibly be level. So I'm going to step back from this and re-visit when my brother is in town this week and get another shooters take on it.
Thanks for the help folks and I will now schedule an appt with my optometrist.
