I was wondering what the difference is on the S&B Scope that the USMC uses on the M40's now and the scope we cn buy in the civilian market? I looked on the S&B site and all they say is that they dont sell the USMC scope to the public. Im building an M40 and Im going to buy the S&B scope but want to get it right.

The real issued usmc scope will have a hologram as pictured below, and a NSN number on top of the usmc 8541 as pictured below. The one that is for sale in the for sale section is only marked with usmc and M8541, and was never issued to the usmc it is not an issued scope unless it has the markings below. The scope in the picture is a real usmc scope, and sold for less than 6K!

Do you mean 2d-barcode or QR code vs hologram? The spot below Premier Reticles.
There could be a lot of info encoded in the 2D barcode vs just the serial number. It could house build date, builder, SN, specs, etc.
