Re: SAC: 223 Rem Left hand, Manners MCS-T2 18.5"

Mark,

Man you guys are putting out some seriously tough sticks. Mike B is finally done with my build & waiting on delivery. Now seeing this rifle I should have asked him for a spiral fluted bolt & barrel. Sweet sweet combo.

There's always options and ideas, I need to keep a list!

Looks awesome!

All i can say is i love it man, I just love it. Mark builds some sweet rifles and is a great down to earth guy to deal with. Mark, when you built the 223 for me i did not have the enhanced accuracy package or the matck fire control done to it. What all is being done?

Thanks guys.

Our Enhanced Accuracy Package is a proprietary truing technique that starts off as the standard action truing (dialing in action within .0002", single point cutting the threads, squaring lug abutments, receiver face, bolt face, bolt lugs and cleaning up the bolt nose. Next we add 3 more steps to the equation that take things to a new level as far as accuracy goes. Not only does the accuracy potential of the rifle increase, but brass life can be longer and bolt manipulation can be smoother as well.

Our Match Fire Control assembly is the same components we use in our Signature action. The assembly contains these parts...

Firing pin
Firing pin spring
Cocking piece
Bolt shroud
Cross pin

The firing pin is a steel fluted replacement that is machined as straight and true as they come. The firing pin spring is made to correct specs and is polished and does not bind or push the firing pin inside the bolt body. The cocking piece is made so that when the firing pin is inserted, the cross pin hole lines up. Most other firing pin assemblies I have checked have too much or all the stress on the cross pin, causing breakage. Our assembly is stress free and puts no pressure on the cross pin. Furthermore, the cocking piece is machined to tight specs, its polished with no machining marks and has all the correct geometry. Lastly, the bolt shroud has a nice clean, fit into the bolt body, it is made of steel which is far superior to the aluminum units and it completes the package.

There are so many issues I have encountered with other firing pin assemblies, these units are the best made, toughest units out there.

Re: SAC: 223 Rem Left hand, Manners MCS-T2 18.5"

that is one awesome looking rifle...And, it is mine!!! Man, I can't wait to get it to the house and do some testing on it. I will also add that working with Mark on this project has been a joy. Mark really helped me come up with ideas and avenues on where to go with the design. And, in the end of the day it exceeded my expectations.

I would highly recommend working with Short Action Customs for your next build.
