Having my build started by SAC. Plan on using the rifle for 1000 yard competition eventually. I chose a 26" Bartlien barrel. Will I be happy with this length? Going to run 140 Berger Hybrids. Should I stick with this length or should I go longer ?

Sounds great! Just wanted to make sure I made the right decision!

UYeah you are good, the 140 Hybrids will be humming quite well at 1000 out of a 26" barrel, you could even go 24" without any ill effects.

I think I may have heard about your gun from Mark. I am very excited to receive my gun!!

My DTA 26" 260'barrel shoots Berger 140gr BT and VDLs at 2710 with Lapua brass and 45.7gr H4831. 0.16 MOA at 100 yards. I think you'll find it to be perfect for your needs!

I have reached 1250yds easily with a lesser quality build and only 24 inch barrel, you'll be fine with what you have.
cheers.

My DTA with SAC built 28" Bartlein 8-Twist is pushing 140gr A-Max 2950fps with 45grs of H4350 near sea level.

I guess we will have to see what my 26" barrel will push these Bergers!! And I found 10 pounds of 4350 today soooo I am set!!

26" or 24" in either 1:8 or 1:8.5 is a good length for the 6.5's I have DTA SAC Bartlien 26" CM pushing 2830 my 260 DTA Lother 26" pushes 2970 and my 24" 260 Kreiger pushes 2850 all using 139-140's 4350 and 4831SC. You will be very happy with Marks work for sure!
