Sweet! Would you mind sticking that thing on a scale? I have just about decided on 25" for my M24 and I'm debating whether to flute it or not

I'm ignorant to this " time curvature of bore to index in the 12o'clock position in relationship to the action". Can you please explain why.

The reason for the build was for the wife. When serving with AF Security Forces she was sent thru ADM school. She loved coming home and bragging to me about shooting so for a first Anniversary gift and a Christmas gift I decided to build her here weapon, but a little better. I wanted and familiar to her service weapon as possible so looking at her range books, she had a LA, I tried to stay true with Dakota BM but Mark had loads of feeding problems, so we switched to the DBM Assy, its worked great so far. We were anxious to get it to the range so I cannibalized my Scope off my project build (BARSKA SWAT 3-12x 42 I believe), its nothing fancy just wanted to get some trigger time in. Speaking of which the trigger is the same if not better than my Timmny Mark installed on my budget build. Below are some 3rd groups at 120yrds with 180gr SST with 54gr of Varget. They shot alot better than the sight in with the 150gr Hornady BTSP, however they were all under an inch. I'm no marksman or tac. shooter but in my opinion the rifle is a nail driver. Im going to do some hand loads to see if I can reduce a little pressure but Im sticking with the 180gr SST's.

First few two group photos are my hand loads than after the box are the factory rounds. The first group is off target but I wanted to see what the grouping was like regardless of the hold.

A couple eyed up and a Hide.com drill page. Like I said I am in no way a sniper, this was at 120yrds with a 1" up and 1" left hold which I spaced on on a few.

I'm no means a gunsmith but the way someone explained it me is no matter what a barrel is not perfectly straight. You can index the muzzle to point 12 o'clock instead of say 6 or 3 or whatever.

What he said, the point is to get a smidge more usable elevation travel out of your scope, ie the poi is shifted up compared to it being indexed other than 12 o'clock.

that is very well done M24 by Mark. He does great work and is also a great guy to work with. I have two of his rifles - one mine and the other is my wife's 6.5mm Creedmoor.
