On a S&G 6700 series lock does the key on the dial just lock the dial from rotating or can it actually open the safe without using the combination.

Just locks the dial - doesn't open safe.

Was afraid of that. I did watch a video of a champion safe with a s&g lock and he opened it with the key. He called it the 3 rights to unlocking , torn key to the right , turn dial to right and turn handle to right.

That's the "day lock" you put in your combo as if to open, then gently turn dial back to 0, use key to lock the dial. You wont be able to open the door, but once you unlock the dial, you will be able to turn the dial right and open the door.
