I'm not impressed with the clips that go in the tracks to support the shelves. My safe is 42" wide, so that's a wide shelf and I'd like to be able to put some weight on the shelf without fear of those little clips bending/failing. Without actually rebuilding the interior, does anyone know of a better clip that will still use the tracks OR what has anyone done to allow their shelves to support some real weight?

My shelf started sagging, so I cut a couple of pieces of 1/2 inch electrical strutt and put under it. Known as unistrutt in the trade, it is cheap and strong. Comes with a powder coat green paint, galvanized or in stainless. Most of us can't afford the stainless!!! Lightman

Just to be clear, I'm not worried about the shelf sagging....yet. Actually the shelves have two ribs running the length, so it should take a lot to make them sag. What I'm worried about are the clips on each side supporting the whole shelf. They seem very cheap and I've already bent a couple that instead of replacing with the spares that came with the safe, I'm now bending them back out to put back in.

A pic would help. Have you thought about cutting some, say 1"x2" wood pieces that would extend from the floor of the safe to the underside of the shelf, two on each end?
