Got an email from Euro Optic.......$1800.00......deal ?...... thoughts ?....... I need a range finder, anybody have any experience with these, I know these are new. Any recommendations.......I have used a Bushnell, not impressed, and also a Letica, also not very impressed.....

Is there anything posted anywhere, where someone has taken one of these and compared performance side by side with the original Terrapin? To me, that seems the most logical test to do because everyone in the market for one of these is probably pretty familiar with the real-world performance reputation of the original, but no one seems to have done it yet.

Man, that's what I've been waiting to see! Thanks for the heads-up. I'm a little disappointed that it didn't range quite as far as the original (kind of expected that though), but it still seems like it might be the best available on the market by quite a bit.

I received my Terrapin-X last Saturday, and have played with it a little. I had an original Terrapin a couple of years ago, but sold it (stupid move on my part). My limited time with the X mirrors the findings in the other thread. It doesn't range quite as well as the original Terrapin, but better than a Kilo 2400. I haven't had a chance to range any steel yet, just hard objects (trees, houses, rocks, etc), but on those objects, it's a little less capable than the original. However, the scan mode is very nice, and bluetooth connection to Kestrel works well. Overall I'm very pleased with it, but I'm not going to jump for joy just yet. I'm hoping it will range a 24" steel plate at a mile. The Kilo 2400 that I had would not come close. If the X won't do it, I'll have to invest a lot more money in a rangefinder. At the price point of $1795, I don't think you'll find a better or more capable rangefinder, but it isn't equal to an original Terrapin in ranging ability.

I'd like to know what range a target I'm lookin at is, but realistically,..... I'll never be shooting more than 1K with anything I own......just looking for some accuracy........
