Saiga 12

Have a chance to buy a Saiga 12 for 500. Only comes with one 5 round clip though. I've always wanted a semi auto like this for personal home defense. From what a have read for the past few years they seem to be good shot guns. Any one ever have any problems with them (like is it picky with certain shells?). Hows the maintenance, like any other semi auto?

Wonder if I would be better off just getting a good ole 18" 870
(my 870 express is a 30" barrel and its a little hard to get around tight corners LOL)

I want a Saiga 12 too but I would hate to have that weapon shown in court if I shot someone - this shouldn't be a concern but its the world we live in currently. My old 870 looks like Uncle Bob's duck gun (wink).

Get a Benelli M90 MkIV. COmbat proven and well worth it for an auto shottie. The Super 90 MkI's are even less since they are the old delayed blowback operation, and not the gas operation of the newer MkIV

The saiga is great if you work it over a little. The quality control isn't that great from the factory so alot of them don't work so well. Check out saiga12.com. There is lots of info there.
