To the Constitution....again ! I took my oath seriously and never felt the need to repeat it.

I took (and take) my oath taken in 1980 seriously as well. I took it voluntary and having said it of my own free will felt that I was bound by it. Had I been compelled to say it against my will then I might have felt that it was an attempt to force me to surrender my freedom.

I was young and naive when I joined , I do remember thinking ā€œagainst all enemies, foreign and domestic ā€œ bothered me , I just never pictured problems against other/ fellow Americans.

Well, looks like we've reached that dangerous point where it's fealty to the regime or belief in Rights.

To hear them, the INDIVDUALS in government cannot be divorced from the Constitution or it's people or way of life and that's just fucking false. Would it be "illegal"? No more illegal that it was to tear down Nazi Germany and evict those assholes because they went the wrong way and refused to leave. Germany is still there, populated by German people and they're happier now than they were then. Fact. We could be the same.

Pretty sure they're gonna beat the "following orders" part to death and water down the "Constitution" parts. I hate to say it, but I think America died and we just forgot to hold a funeral.

They're still pissed because most of us stopped giving a shit past the BOR and that we don't hold their pay raise and Wall Steet protections and social justice as Constitutional Amendments in the same high regard. Fuck them.

Beware the labels you put on people, I give a shit about racism and would prefer not to go to war here, but I will be the best felon and white supremacist I can be if you insist on forcing those labels on me. Cowtowing just isn't gonna be an option here and personally, I've had about all this phantom race shit and zero tolerance bans on x, y, and z that I can stomache and still pretend I'm "free".

They're just lucky the goddamn capitol isn't closer for the rest of the population or it'd have been cleaned out in January.

Funny, I did and I also had and idea of who they might be. They aren't letting me down, that's all I can say...

I keep waiting for these guys to actually put up or shut up regarding their oath. I don't expect much.

Care to paraphrase your statement? What specifically do you mean to put up or shut up regarding the oath of enlistment?

Military is the arm of the government not the people, if government decides to do what ever they must follow orders of the government in charge.

In case you haven't heard, the new Sec. of defense issued a stand down to address white extremism in the military ranks. Here's a link: White extremist stand down . So, if you're a white, patriotic male, beware! You have ties to white surpremacy based on the color of your skin.
According to Biden and the idiot Democrats that control him, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts then are Hitler Youth organizations.

I still don't understand what the purpose of reaffirming your enlistment oath is supposed to do. I took mine in 81 and it still stands.

At first I thought that they were looking for the oathkeepers or rebels by seeing who was not going to say it.

He probably means the talk that we hear about the Oath is a bunch of crap. Virtue signaling by those on the right that served. If it mattered, the domestic enemy part would be valid and acted on by those who claim it means everything to them. Obviously this isnā€™t the case. The oath means the same to the military guys, politicians, judges, and people like me. Absolutely nothing. This is all fine with me, just donā€™t put on a show. It is what it is.

Like I told the last 4 star Admiral ( Richardson when he was in charge of naval reactors), Get the fuck out of my way.

Navy has been nothing but SJW and DMV in uniform for a long time. One of the worst commands I ever worked for, but on the flipside one of the coolest jobs I ever had. Naval Leadership is toxic and broken from the top to the bottom.

Telling them to go fuck themselves is the only correct response. Sure I would love to end this enlistment early with all my benefits, where do I sign?

On the real, you are under contract and already took an oath of enlistment. They can't force you to take another oath without allowing you out of the contract. I forsea lots of lawsuits and congressional involvement shortly.

That's kind of what I assumed he meant. And, Yeah. I have to partially agree with you. It's a bunch of BS. In order for that "oath" to be sufficient and to be kept, it would literally takes multiple thousands of active duty military members to link up, quietly & under the radar of the C.O.C and act upon it. In other words, be pirates and instigate a mutiny against the commander in chief.....We ALL know that will NEVER happen! Because there's always a little mouse in the group who opens their mouth. Therefore, IF you were to organize and act upon our oath of enlistment, you're classified as an extremist and at best, kicked out with a dishonorable discharge or put into the brig for life.

I canā€™t fault those that took the oath and do nothing as long as I just sit on my ass all the same. That being said, I donā€™t want to see or hear another virtue signaler say how much those words mean to them. They are either lying to whom they speak, to themselves, or both.

A wise man recently said that everyone is waiting on others to put in the work. This way people donā€™t have to deal with the consequences. They/we want a savior of some sort. There will never be mass pushback as long as individual people are scared of the consequences of acting alone and being singled out. Itā€™s a cop out we are all guilty of. Individuals must make decisions on what they can morally accept. Can you morally watch evil thrive and turn your children loose in this world? Can you morally sit back and let evil flourish when as a man you are capable of fighting back? What kind of men are we to keep making excuses. One man and his actions can inspire thousands. Millions. One man one God.

Welcome to the loyalty oath, reconstructed rebels, all southerners had to swear to, to be allowed back into society, after the uncivil war....
Some of our families have seen this shit before, and "had" to instill it in the generations that followed...
    No fucking different....
Thus, the term, unreconstructed unrepentant rebel...

This new oath, same as the party oath in post 17 as well. Fealty to the party in power, a reminder to follow "the orders".... "put them in the shower, sailor"...
Anybody who fails to see this.....
    Just sayin...

    History repeats itself...
    Yet, once agin...

Unfortunately, I donā€™t think itā€™s the enlistment oath theyā€™re talking about. Itā€™s maybe this one....

"I pledge to advocate for and acknowledge all lived experiences and intersectional identities of every sailor in the Navy. I pledge to engage in ongoing self-reflection, education and knowledge sharing to better myself and my communities. I pledge to be an example in establishing healthy, inclusive and team-oriented environments. I pledge to constructively share all experiences and information gained from activities above to inform the development of Navy-wide reforms."

The key word is ā€œintersectionalā€, which the article explains. Apparently, the USN stood up a special task force, TF-1, to study the perceived ā€œproblemā€ and this is one of their recommendations. Makes me sick to my stomach to see this SJW crap being forced on military members and I feel badly for my Navy brethren who are going to have to choose on taking this oath or tubing their careers if they stand up and refuse. Iā€™m hoping the majority choose the latter and upper echelons are forced to back down from trying to institute this garbage. Unfortunately, I can see my own service, USAF, right behind this if the Navy succeeds.
