outside of some of the obvious differences between these two actions..

plastic bottom "metal" on the A7,
two piece bolt on the A7 versus the one piece bolt on the M85
platic bolt shroud on the A7 versus metal shroud on the M85

are there any differences that would make a difference in the grans scheme of things? obviously, plastic is cheaper than metal... perhaps there are some issues to it?

any thoughts?

Re: Sako A7 versus M85

Giving only a subjective opinion, I absolutely love my A7 in .300 WSM and am extremely pleased with its accuracy, weight, balance, and durability. The accuracy guarantee they make is no joke. The feeding and ejecting is smooth and dependable. I'm not a fan of plastic either but it hasn't been a problem on this rifle. As far as hunting rifles go, I doubt I'll ever find the need to use anything else.

I've sold both for a couple of years and when you are talking about real practical differences they will both do a really efficient job of putting meat on the table. as listed above the differences are numerous but they will both get the job done in the end.
