I’d like to put together a lightweight hunter and am comparing these two rifles since I don’t want to do a custom build right now. Would eventually be used for an Elk hunt out west so would like to keep it as light as possible but with great accuracy if the longer shots present themselves. Both stainless, both in 300 Win Mag. Both would be threaded for a brake/can to help control the stout recoil in such a light gun.
Is the Sako worth the premium over the Tikka?
Which one will shoot the 180-220 grain loads more accurately?
Which allows for a greater cartridge OAL when reloading?
Do both function/feed reliably when loading the longer 300WM rounds?
Any other considerations when comparing these two?
I have a Tikka T3 Varmint .308 that is an awesome gun with incredible accuracy so I would be happy with another Tikka, but this Sako caught my eye and none of my local dealers carry them for me to check out in person.
