Sako Quad in Manners, bedding Q

Anyone have any insight on whether or not to bed the first 1-2" of barrel? The barrel is a Lilja BR-50 zero taper.

Given the barrel mass relative to the small Sako receiver, the thought crossed my mind.

I do this to all my rimfires. As well, so does GAP to all of their rifles. It protects in case the rifle is dropped.
