My Quad is almost complete. Now, I just need to decide on a scope. Any suggestions? I am thinking of mounting up a Bushnell 2.5-16x42 (mounted the scope up on 6/13).

I am looking forward to the monthly Rimfire competitions.

you should be able to find something to your liking here:

    22 scope+ mounts+rings threads

of course the ultimate decision is yours, you'll probably get the ol' 15 different scope suggestions from 15 different people, so narrow it down t 2 or 3 that you know you'ld like to put on with the features you NEED with the options you WANT vs. your budget and what type of shooting you'll do.

looks like you have a quality rifle being put together, compliment it with something nice.

Just wanted to say very nice rifle. I am looking into putting together just about the same rifle only w/ a Mcmillan or Manners. What barrel is on the rifle? As far as scopes go I am planning on a NXS on mine but think it may be too heavy. I would look into the Leupold EFR scopes, should keep the weight down. Please keep us informed on how it shoots.

I got a Nikon 4-16x50 Tactical on mine. What ever you choose, be sure the parallax will focus down to 50yrds. A Lilja barrel is the way to go. Super accurate.

The barrel is a tensioned aluminum prototype barrel that I was lucky to get ahold of, and it weights less than the factory barrel it replaced. For now, I am trying to keep this rifle relatively light, hence the factory stock.

The NXS scopes are great, but I don't think they focus down to 50 yards.

I've been pretty impressed with what the Bushnell Elite scopes offer for the price.

I thought the Leupold 4.5-14x40 LRT Target looked like a great option for this rifle, but it only focuses down to 75 yards.

Thats why I recomendede the EFR series of leupold they were designed as air rifle scopes and will focus much closer.

Re: Sako Quad is almost ready

If you can find one a Leupold 3.5-10x50 EFR's are great. They are no longer made but can be found occasionally for sale.

The Leupold 3-9 EFR's are nice as well.

(3-9 EFR with target knobs. I would recommend the M1 knobs over the target knobs)
    NULA repeater
    NULA rings
Refinished (by Spradlins) gloss EFR with target knob upgrade Premier Reticles dot reticle. They didn't make the matte when I got this scope refinished nor offered the M1 knobs

Send either in to Leupold for the M1 knob upgrade and reticle of your choice.

    Both are sporting McMillan stocks.

Re: Sako Quad is almost ready

I had some good weather today and needed to get out shooting. I mounted up a Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 in some Leupold QRW low mount rings and went to the range.

The gun shot great. I saved some of the targets that I will need to post.

At the end of the day, it was just me and one other guy at the PMAA outdoor range. Both of us were shooting suppressed .22 lr, so I took off my ear pro. and was amazed at the noise level (or lack thereof) from a suppressed .22 bolt action.

I should also note that both of my ten round magazines experienced feeding issues if loaded with more than 7 rounds. I guess I will need to do some searching on how to modify the mags for reliable feeding. If anyone knows how to adjust them, I would greatly appreciate your advice.

Here is a pic of the Quad wearing the new scope.

    Great shooting.

I have been having issues as well with my 10 rounders. If you find out anything please post it up.

Are the rounds hitting the "blank wall" below the chamber and not feeding? Sometimes "positive bolt manipulation" helps but other times it really screws stuff up

    Pat -

It sounds like you and I are experiencing the same feeding issues. If I find a solution to it, I will post it here.
