So I've decided on a Samson EVO rail for my ar 15 build, but I'm not sure which one to use. It's a 20" barrel so I know I will need the rifle length forearm, but there are two different ones. There is a 12.37" and a 11" rifle length. I'm guessing the 12.37" is for a low profile DI system? Which I think would mean that the 11" I can use for my GP system build? Correct? Just need to make sure before I purchase. Please let me know if you are informed in this matter. Thanks.

If I'm correct about my original post does that mean in theory I could buy the 12.37" forearm and have it machined to fit my gas piston system like the samson Evo 9ex does? By that I mean the way it encloses the gas block.

I've heard guys tell me you have to drill a hole in the side of the 9ex to tighten down the gas block. No biggy.
