I tried to save money by building a sarco m1 garand because geeze real m1 garands are too much money ...boy was I wrong ? 1200 dollars later ..

Why not just get a m1 from the CMP? Way cheaper than just about anything out there
Shoots like a dream but expensive like most of my dreams haha mostly made of Korean war parts except stock and the receiver . i got a mount from hopco that replaces the rear sight and put a trijicon rm05 red dot . i can aim faster than i ever did with irons and easier on the eyes. i just wanted a shooter if I wanted historical id have gone with cmp. I'm actually buying through cmp tax refund season this following year hopefully they'll have some cmp specials in stock .
I actually wanted to build an m1 from scratch ..expensive yes but I appreciate the m1 garand platform so much more now .
No i live in illinois but I will be buying this coming tax season . I want a cmp special or a service ..maybe service so I can get an original barrel .
