i have a savage 10 .308 stagger feed and was wondering if it can be changed over to a mag fed and was also wondering what stock options i have, looking for a fully adjustable stock that doesnt cost an arm and a leg. thank you

Re: savage 10 fp ?

i cant say positively, but try CDI bottom metal. i believe his will fit. the only other suggestion is ACME and its sold by shart shooter supply. i am not really comfortable suggesting anyone do anything with them, with a few exceptions. if they can SWEAR on a STACK of BIBLES that they have the parts right there. it will work with both of the screw spacings that savage has. other than that, there is VBull from canada.

stocks, try a manners or a mcmillan. after those will be B&C and Choate, stockys gunstocks, kevin rayhill (cant recall his company name)

Re: savage 10 fp ?

I have a SSS Acme and like it, dropped right in and looks great. Axeman was right, they can take their sweet time. They told me I would have the Acme in 4 business days and it took 11 business days. But it was worth the wait.

Re: savage 10 fp ?

11 days is nothing compared to months and months of excuses some people have gotten. i have always had good luck with them, but i hate to suggest them after hearing peoples experiences without warning people

im still waiting on a call for the 9 round mags i ordered one year ago. now in that time, we have 2 new options for 10 round mags available

Re: savage 10 fp ?

Buy an XLR chassis for your Savage, I wish I had known about them when I bought my Choate. My Choate is fine but by the time you buy a Choate and pay for shipping $260 and the CDI bottom metal (works great) $290 with 10 rd AICS mag and pay to have the stock inletted $60 and buy a Karsten cheekpiece for $60 you are out $670. The XLR chassis system with DBM is $720 and you can add the folder mechanism later as more funds become available. The chassis may or may not be your cup of tea but it requires no bedding or DBM.

I have the ACME as well. It works pretty well. The fitment is excellent. I didn't have a problem getting a hold of SSS, but I seem to have been one of the lucky ones.
