Savage 10 metal trigger guard?

Finally got my scratch-built stock finished for my Savage 10 (that was an adventure...), and I'm torquing the action screw down to the rear pillar and "crack" goes the cheap plastic trigger guard.

Midway is sold out, can't locate a replacement metal trigger guard (staggered-feed action) anywhere. Any other suggestions?

On my Savage 10FP (center fed) I had a factory metal trigger guard. I didn't know that on some 10 models they were in plastic.

I got a metal one from the factory on my savage 12 centerfeed. maybe if you go to savages parts finder and find the part it will be the metal one..
