Savage 10FP and Remington ADL Predator

Ok got a question, I have a Savage 10FP that holds .25 moa at 100 yds with 43 gr Varget, used federal GM cases, cci primers and 168 gr HPBT Sierra Matchkings. My dad recently bought a Remington 700 ADL Predator. My question is this, Is it safe to shoot Long Range M118 7.62 175gr. ammo in either of these? It seems like I have used this stuff before in the savage but I cant remember? Its small brown boxes that say 20 CRTG. 7.62 MM Long Range M118 then stamped below that is XM118LR PD. The headstamp is LR LC 05. Im guessing its seconds for Police Departments which is why the PD designation?

Sounds like the 175g rounds you are describing may be NATO-spec rounds for a 7.62mm chamber but not sure w/o more info. Measure the COAL, compare it to factory ammo or your other reloads. Also, if possible, obtain the charge weight for the cartridges.

Typically, NATO rounds are a bit hotter, loaded to a slightly longer COAL and perform optimally out of a 7.62 mm chamber (as opposed to a .308 Winchester chamber, which is what your rifles have)

In addition, assuming your twist rate in either rifle is 1/11 or 1/12, chamber pressure will be less, than 1/10, all other things equal....

Fire a round and check the primer pocket for signs of excessive pressure...
