I've had a lot of Savage ejector springs fail, but never without some kind of a pressure leak from the primer. My guess is that's what's happening even if you're not seeing it happen.
I have decided that for my purposes, a Savage ejector failure is essentially an indication of overpressure in my handloads.
These days I operate my match rifles with a single feed follower and don't employ an ejector. My brass tends to stay cleaner this way.
I have also abandoned hotter loads; they don't live up to expectations and usually have problems like this one involved in their use.
