Savage 110 Action Replacement

I recently put together an outlier custom rifle and I got a savage 110 for it and I really dislike the savage action. I have been learning on a ruger rpr, and compared to the ruger my savage action is really bad. Maybe it's just the one I got, but the eject is horrible and it feels loose, I really have to wrestle with it. Looking for suggestions for a replacement action. I've seen posts say zermatt has savage actions, I thought all the top name clones were all rem 700's. If you can link the exact action or the exact part UPC I should be looking for that would be very much appreciated.

Zermatt is a Remington 700 clone.
This means it fits stocks inletted for Rem 700 actions and other clones.
It uses Rem 700 triggers and aftermarket triggers.

HOWEVER,
The action is threaded to accept Savage tenon threads.

The ARC Coup de Gras and the Aero Solus are also 700 clones that have the Savage tenon threads.

Note: the stock you are using for your Savage action will not fit the 700/clone actions.

I recommend you just keep the Savage as a loaner and build something new. The reason I say that is simple. The only thing about your current build that will fit your new build is the barrel. (And the optic)
It's best to just move on into a completely new setup.

Does your Savage bolt have the stupidly long "tactical" knob/handle? Savage actions are far from "tight" when you run the bolt, and I've had issues with binding due to funny leverage that long bolt handle creates. I switched mine to a round knob from gunshack and it helped a lot.....still loose, but no more binding. Pretty cheap to try.

Also....agree with Mike on keeping this rifle as-is and starting a new build.

I’ll second what was said above. The only thing any aftermarket actions support that have savage involved is the same barrel tenon threads.

Either start brand new or sell the savage and buy a tikka if you aren’t ready to spend more $$ on the custom route

I wouldn’t stick more money in the savage platform. There’s much better options out there and you’ll never recoup the money spent should you try to sell later

Really like the 110 action that came on my Storm . Not as smooth as my Tikka, of course, but very close. No extraction or ejection issues. Converting it from a hunting to a range rifle with a new bull barrel and MDT chassis. I guess many would say I was just lucky. If I am, that luck has extended into my Model 12 LRPV in .223. VERY accurate out to 500, flawless through 2,000 + rounds.

I was afraid of that, thanks for the good info
