Re: Savage 110ba replacement barrel?

I called savage this morning and found out for the savage 110ba is a large shank 1 1/8 thread pitch (1.250). Pac nor is the only after market barrel company has called me back and was able to make a barrel for my rifle.Any other barrel company I should look at?

Re: Savage 110ba replacement barrel?

You really don't have to look for someone to make a barrel for you. Don't you just need a barrel with an outside diameter big enough to be threaded for your action?

I'm shooting a Krieger heavy varmint right now and it has just over a 1 and 1/4" diameter at the breech end. They are showing several .338 barrels in stock now. That last time I found one that I liked in stock, I had it in about a week or so.

Find a Smith to thread it and you should be good to go. Of course, I don't shoot this caliber and don't know exactly what you need. In any case, I'd give Krieger a call.

I have a quick question guys.. Does anyone know what grade of steel the 110BA's barrel is made of and is it chrome-lined?

thanks

1 1/8=(1.125") Nothing wrong with Pac nor.
