i was curious about installing a dbm on the savage 111 fcxp3 (probly the cdi kit) and was wondering if it would work on an aftermarket stock such as the bell and carlson duramaxx stock

Re: savage 111 and DBM kit

only things that come to mind are the newer models have the bolt release on the trigger guard. jeff was working on that. also the bottom of his bottom metal will not always fit every stocks profile. do a search of CDI and look at peoples installs of his DBM. the last guy was all upset that it didnt match his stock. you may be able to buy his cheap, lol. also man look at that SSS ACME system. it will fit any factory DBM inlet in savages line, with the bolt release in either position. there was one for sale too here in the classifieds. if thats the DBM you want, you can get a stock inlet by Jeff at CDI for a good price. without knowing the specifics of your choice in rifle, its hard to be definite

Re: savage 111 and DBM kit

i searched that acme kit and it says it will only work on short actions and the rifle is a .300 win mag,and i know that cdi has a dbm kit for long action savage 110's, i was wondering if that would work on the 111 if i kept the normal stock

Re: savage 111 and DBM kit

well like i said the thing is this. it will fit in the hole and will feed and function. i cannot swear that it will fit flush. texgal338 may be able to help you out with some pictures cause she has a savage long action with CDI installed. if your factory stock is wood, you may be able to get it level with the CDI. you could do the same to the B&C i would guess, im not sure what its made from. start with a call to Jeff. he will know first. im guessing it will work. i cannot swear how it will look, but it will function. everybodys has so far
