Savage 93 FV-SR or Ruger 10-22

Hey everyone,

I want to get a 22lr for plinking and my local dealer has an FV-SR for $250 or a Ruger 10/22.

I just want for plinking and to piss around with. Semi's are not hunting-legal in my state so I might just spring for the FV-SR.

How have your FV-SR's been treating you guys?

Just got a Salvage fv-sr, been pretty good so far. With the hunting restrictions you have, definetly the fv-sr otherwise the 10-22 will only be a range gun.

ok gonna be picking up an FV-SR as soon as the dealer can get another one in.

I've had a dozen 10/22 over the years. None has ever been as much fun as my savage. Set it up with a 20 moa base from egw and a 25 x scope and you won't even remember why you wanted a 10/22.

I got the FV-SR and love it.

And its a Mark II not a 93.

Two different animals....if you want to plink <span style="font-style: italic">and </span>hunt, the choice seems obvious, savage. The 10/22 is "uber modifiable",and much fun, but if you are a long range shooter(bolt) and want an economical trainer, the savage is the winner.
