Savage 93R17 with a bore snake stuck

Nothing. It just sits in the closet as a reminder to never use a bore snake

I had the same problem with a bore snake stuck in the barrel of Savage 93 .17 HMR. After researching lots of rimfire blogs I decided to try the drill method. I bought a 1/8” drill bit 12” long at Home Depot for about $7.00, removed the barrel and action from the stock, them placed the barrel in a vise using a leather glove as protection. With drill bit in a cordless drill on low speed, carefully worked the bit into the barrel from chamber end. I worked it in a inch or so and pulled it out to remove nylon on the bit. After doing it for about 4” I used an air compressor at 150 psi and it blew the remain bore snake out the muzzle. In all it took about 5 minutes. Local Home Depot also had a 16” 1/8” bit.

Tap the muzzle for a grease fitting and then push it out with the grease gun.
