Gunsmithing Savage Accustock Grip Mod

I came up with an inexpensive mod to my Accustock to improve my trigger hand position.
I shaped a wooden mold block to create the new profile and molded a piece of 1/8" Kydex to create the new grip.
The grip taco is attached with two black oxide connector bolts.

Nice solution on the cheap! I have done similar with Bondo with hair (fiberglass) and completely reprofiled a stock with (hold laughter) high temp hot glue when I was a broke teenager...(now you may laugh). Damned if the hot glue didnt hold up for the 5 years I owned the rifle. Took spray paint very well too.
