Re: savage accustock
When the stock was close to being done manners called me and I sent in my rifle, (minus the accustock) to them and they did a complete bed job on it. I still have the dbm. It looks great, I had it painted od green. I dont know how to upload photographs on here or I would so you could see. I am pleased with the stock, however, I am on the waiting list for a viper pst so no scope for awhile. With the accustock it was very accurate so i am hoping it will at least be the same and hoping for better. From what I have read on here, manners is the way to go, everyone reports how better the accuracy is after getting a manners stock. They were great to deal with. I sent an e-mail to them through their website and I got a call from Tom Manners one day and talked in length with him about what I wanted he said they could do it so after him taking the time to call and discuss, my mind was made up. I think savages are difficult to make stocks for because of all the different configurations so there are a few places on the bedding that I questioned, mostly the metal behind the trigger guard that gets bedded into the stock, I felt like to much of the metal where the the action screw goes through is protruding out from the stock, its not flush and appears like it just wasnt bedded all the way down in the stock, the guy that bedded the stock said that is the only way to do it,its not sticking out much but some. It will not have an affect on anything but my eye seeing it. Other than that, great. It feels way better than the accustock, plus it just looks cool, like a tactical rifle should look. I like pistol grip and it just is more comfortable to me. Give them a call. They will help you out.
