Found this at the lgs yesterday. Was a bit dirty and very leaded in the barrel and breach face. Cleaned up quite nicely and put 100 rounds of SKS Long Range through it. Just shoots outstanding!

Yeah it is obviously made for the American market a opposed to the standard Anschutz stock which was clearly made for European shooters. Not too sure about the scope, but the rest will be great, I almost wonder what that wood would look like without the old ugly finish.

4X Banner by Bushnell. My very first scope, purchased in 1965. Had to save and save to purchase it. However, it made my old Marlin about as good a shooter as it could ever be. Not that great for hunting, but otherwise a decent scope for casual target shooting. The economy model of the Bushnell line. According to my copy of the 1964 Gun Digest, it sold for $29.50. ($295 in today’s prices).

Very Nice Rifle

Thanks! Great story, the scope is crystal clear and the whole package just makes me smile to shoot and carry around the woods so for now it’s going to stay as is.
