I have in my possession a savage mod. 12 BVSS .223 that i acquired a few years ago, that is in need of a new barrel. That in of itself is not a big deal. What concerns me is that i rather like the factory laminated varmint stock that came on the rifle and i would like to stay with it. What I would like to know is weather or not the factory stock can be inleted for an aftermarket DBM from CDI or one of the other manufactures? Can this be done for less than the cost of a new stock? If not ill just be happy with a new barrel and the factory internal magazine.
Bolt spacing on my action is 4.195
Outside diameter of action 1.350
here is a picture of the inlet and factory mag
