After a range session the other day I got to see the terminal performance of a 168gr A Max out of this new Savage. At 100 yards under a full moon, the lighted TMR reticle worked like a champ.

Smoked backstrap, that's what's for dinner!

Re: Savage draws first blood.....

It was a handloaded A Max behind 44.0 grs of R15 with fed brass and 210 primer doing appx 2650.

Nowdays, we get so many that I just cut the backstraps out and feed the buzzards with the rest.

EZY breezy lemon squeezey takes about 3 minutes and you're done.

How about donating that meat instead of leaving it to the buzzards.

Re: Savage draws first blood.....

We consider them as a pest and deal with them accordinally.

We can sometimes find folks that want them. I have family that have a business that kills them by the 1000's. They are a known carrier of Brucelosis.Food banks, children homes etc will not take them due to the state's food laws.
