-----------If so, the 10 round detachable magazine, is it steel, what is your impression of the mags quality? This rifle looks quite interesting, it is only offered in 308, but the quick barrel change option on a Savage leave this piece as a potential for a lot of new calibers. If you have one please share your impressions-likes dislikes etc. thanks in advance!

^^^That was the crux of my question, are these Savage mags? If so, are they identical to the AI mags etc. I've found Savage mags are well made, and made of steel (of good-strong steel), I was hoping someone that owned one of these rifles could give us some users info. Also, I'd be interested in the rest of their impressions, this seems alike a lot of gun for the money.

I have one and the mag is an Accurate mag, which is an AICS clone, plenty strong. The mag rattles a litle bit unloaded but is tight as soon as it has a round in it pushing the mag away from the bolt. This model does have the top safety but smooth barrel nut so you need the smooth nut tool to change the barrel. The barrel is not a 5r on mine but I'm sure it shoots just fine, I actually haven't shot mine much, I started to zero it and the trigger edge that rides the sear rounded off and the trigger wouldn't set. I sent it back and they fixed it. I started shooting rifles with chassis on them and just never really got back to this one. I personally don't like the accustock, the plastic is soft and kind of cheap and the cheek is low, the bedding block is ok though. Overall it is a good rifle for the price, if I never shot something with a chassis I would probably have nothing bad to say about it. I want to put mine in a chassis or Manners T2A.

I have that rifle in the accustock and action and bottom metal exactly like it riding in a McMillan A5. I have not even bedded the A5 and it is shooting back to back 1/2 groups with the first load I tried in it. 155 Scenar over 45.5 gr Varget. Same load my last 308 rifle liked.
