Savage LRP, which base?

Getting a 20 MOA base for a LRP. Is the LRP a round back or square back?

Should be round. Pretty sure all newer model Actions are round.

Thanks, that's what I thought it was. I'm not a savage aficionado just wanted to double check.

Like was said, it is a round back. Be careful buying a base for it though. It has the target action, which means that it has a closed top with an ejection port, not open like most Savage rifles. Some bases have recoil lugs built into the bottom and they will not work with the closed top target action.

I went with a Warne, but I know Nightforce makes a good one. Maybe Murphy Precision or Ken Farrell.

If you are looking for a less expensive option, I believe EGW bases work too.

Badger makes a rail for the savage target action. I have one on my lrp.
