Savage or Barrett

Re: Savage or Barrett

While not an owner of either one, something tells me they are not even in the same ballpark. What is your intended use for this new purchase? I've heard and seen good reviews of both guns, but maybe if you give a little more info on your intended use, there may be a better choice between the two.

Wreck,
Don't take this the wrong way but that's a stupid question. First, you have one of the best 338s out there. There is no rifle out there that can do more than your 338.

If you're looking for an additional "toy", that's one thing. If you're looking to replace the TRG, that not a smart move.

Of the two you asked about, my choice would be the Barrett. Nothing against the Savage, but I would pick the Barrett.

Re: Savage or Barrett

I have a Savage 110 BA and its a great rifle, but I'm probably going to replace it with an MRAD. Not so much because there is anything wrong with the Savage, but because eventually Barrett will come out with additional barrels in different calibers, and being able to keep the same platform, but shoot 'cheap' ammo through it sometimes, is very appealing. Plus, shooting the .338 at 500 yard or less ranges is a bit of a waste, and I can't always head out into the desert when I want to shoot.

The Savage is a LOT of gun for the money though.
