ok..i have a 10fcp with a 22'' fluted heavy barrel..its new so im guessing its 4.4'' on action screws ....anyways..i like the od green B&C medalist..but will this stock accomodate my detachable mag?? seem to be finding conflicting answers on this...or should i just go with the choate tactical..they are relatively close in price..i basically am a noob to bolt guns and would like something that i can just purchase and drop right into and go shoot the **** out of...please help

Re: savage stock help

The choate is probably going to be your best bet for bolt n go. I have had both the tactical and tactical custom. IMO, the custom is the better way to go. Fits a little better and the adjustabilty has proven very useful for me, especially when shooting prone. And yes, your action spacing is the 4.410"

Re: savage stock help

You basically have two options for a drop in stock.

Choate tactical, which is actually a very nice stock or the HS precision which costs about 150 more.

The B&C will not work unless you find someone that can inlet it for you and then you are talking about the HS precision price range anyway.

Re: savage stock help

Or your third option is to drop the coin and go for the XLR Evolution. Get it with the DBM setup and use standard AICS mag's! Yea it's more money, but if you like the style of stock, it's drop in, and cuts out all the crap with DBM setup's and aftermarket higher cap mags you can't get from SSS for 9 months!
