I have a stock inletted for a savage 10 centerfeed action 4.4" screw spacing. Id like to use this stock for a 6mm BR build using a target action. Im thinking of filling in the mag well area and fitting a pillar for the center action screw on the target action.

So my question is will the front and rear action screws line up with the mounting holes already in the model 10 inlet stock stock? I.E. are the action screws the same location on both actions with the target action just having an added center screw?

Re: savage target action screw spacing?

Yes, the target actions share the 4.4" spacing of the front and rear screws. Don't remember the exact center screw spacing but can look it up when I get to my notes.

Re: savage target action screw spacing?

I've done the exact thing you're contemplating. Filled the magwell on a modified B &C Medalist and used it for my Target Action.

You don't need the center screw. My rifle hammers without it. It's one of the most consistently accurate rifles I own.

Found this online for you:

Apparently there is an odd ball spacing for the dual and palma versions. I haven't messed with either of those yet.

I'll have to dig through my journals on the middle screw. I just sold all my target actions so I don't have one to physically measure for you. Sorry.
