Here it is I got to the range this AM with the intent to shoot the 100 yd rimfire comp. However I couldn't get a stable hold without putting my hand on top of a folded coat under the buttstock. Not knowing if that is legal I'll not post these in that thread. It should be fine for prone but off the bench it was just too high. Ok with that said here the rifle

I'm gonna be ordering some different match ammo next week. I'm in Madison about 35 miles east of Cleveland right on the shores of Lake Erie. I shoot @ Orco it's a private range in Geneva. I'm hoping to get down to Solon Gun Club this summer as we have only a 200 yard range.

Yep its a CP 4X16 so far so good. I just wish the reticle was thinner @ 100 it completely covers a 1/2" dot @ 16 power. It seems to track well and returns to zero. I'm thinking of trying a tasco 6X24 on it I just got the scope in for another gun so maybe I'll give that one a try.

First off I am new here and wanted to say hi I just got a new savage TR and liked it so much I ordered a seconed one I too have been shooting mine at 200 yards with SK standered plus and it shoots very good. I need to get the trigger down to 1 1/2 lbs and bed it I bought it for shooting 100 yard and 200 yard matches I think this rifle is sweet I will try to post some pic's later.

Welcome to the Hide chas. I'm thinking of buying the 17 HMR version myself. Lowest my trigger will go is 3 Lbs. I have yet to try 200 with it and I just changed the scope out so I'm trying to get it dialed in @ 100 first.

I think shooting this thing at 200 yards is a hoot I also have a savage 93R17BV and I was hiting ground hogs in the head @ 150 yards in calm wind and could see the red mist fly love savages.

This is some what off topic but since where talkimg range and accuracy of a savage mk II, i figured I would share some events of yesterday. I have the btvs mkII and love it. Took it out for some prarie dog action with some cci mini-mags, ans MAN did I have fun. The longest shot/kill of the day was paced out to exactly 400yds no shit couldn't believe it myself. I will it admit it took about six shots to get the hold on him. But from that range they have no clue whats going on so they just stay there. I'll have to say that the Mk II was the best investment i've ever made. as for optics i'm using the bsa sweet 22 and love it turrets are extremely handy.

Nice shooting!

I actually just purchased one of these rifles in a 17HMR for my younger brother. We are planning to take it out today for the first time. I'm fairly certain that I'm going to pick up one in 22LR too when the local gun shop has them in stock. I absolutely love the stock on it... now I just want to see how the 17hmr shoots!

Thanks everyone for the compliments I still need alot of practice. Got the Tasco dialed in and decided to swap out the bipod for a Harris 6-9 S series couldn't get comfortable with the one from Wally World it was too high for me. I'll get some pics up soon
