Just finished my trainer,had the entire barreled action in the spindle bore to thread the muzzle (less bolt).
Do these barrels come off?

I have never had one off, but i do believe they come off. I think they are a press fit with a drift pin to lock in place.

Looks good,
where did you come across that stock? I can't seem to find a solid lamitated stock without a thumbhole, not that I'm entirely against a thumbhole, just like that one better. If my memory seves me, I think there is two pins holding the barrel in place but don't quote me.

The stock is from Chris at Wallis Forge,from a blank I supplied . I asked for the wider fore end after seeing it on a 10-22 stock He'd done. Much nicer to shoot from than the rainbow thumbhole effort that Savage supplied.

Chris does great work on his stocks. Here is a special 40x stock that mirrors the HS precision stock of my 308
