SBR build recommendations

The clock's officially started on my Noveske Gen 2 lower to clear the ATF so I might as well occupy my time by figuring out exactly what I want my SBR to be. My thoughts so far:

Noveske lower
Geissele S3G trigger
Magpul UBR stock (will try out which buffers enable best function)
PWS Diablo upper
Magpul AFG 2
Magpul BUIS
Single point sling
Surefire Scout M600C
Aimpoint Comp M2

The big question for me is which suppressor to run. I know that the 7.5" barrel won't be covered by most warranties. That's why I'm leaning toward the Thunderbeast 223A.

Thoughts, comments?

Re: SBR build recommendations

SureFire just started taking orders on their new SOCOM suppressors, one of them is made specifically for SBRs with really short barrels.

Re: SBR build recommendations

I think that a 7.5" barrel is acceptable for that can.

Either way though, you're gonna beat the hell out of it. I'd go with something cheap for that reason alone. Like a Gemtech trek. Pretty rugged can and it's only 550. Plus, you won't probably won't hear the difference with a barrel so short. It will still be loud and you'll still need ear pro.

Just my thoughts.

Re: SBR build recommendations

Thunderbeast and Brevis DeltaP both cover the 7" barrels and both are FA rated. In addition their warranty dosnt come with the if you use a certian manufactures barrel or system we will cover. No its straight up warrany, both are awsome suppressors, I like the Brevis compact on mine, at 3.5" in legth this little guy will suprise you seen it shot up agianst full size cans and you cant tell the difference.

Re: SBR build recommendations

Look at POF and DD. I had a 9" POF upper, never cleaned it and ran that shit out of it.

Re: SBR build recommendations

TBAC FTW !!!! You're already spending big money , might as well go all out

Re: SBR build recommendations

This will be my first SBR. I'm leaning mostly toward the Diablo upper, though Noveske's LoPro switchblock at 10.5" is also pretty tempting. Both the DeltaP Brevis and TBAC 223A fit what I'm looking for. Since the goal is for the rifle to be as short and light as functionally possible, that will likely be what decides between the various options. Man, I think this ATF wait will be the longest for me. Here's a bit of rifle porn that's keeping me going:

I also avoid vertical grips. I much prefer the Magpul AFG2s.

Re: SBR build recommendations

Love the UBR personally, but if you're going for the lightest possible set-up, I'd nix the UBR and go with something lighter like the CTR. An Aimpoint Micro would shave some weight and bulk off, if you ran that instead of the comp2. A Trek-T would be a nice option as well.

Re: SBR build recommendations

Im running a AAC Mini-4 on my 10.5 MK18 clone. Ever consider a mini suppressor. I know its not going to suppress it nearly as much, but it will take a lot of the bite out of the blast.
