SBR or pistol

so, i just got done looking over the "SBR show 'em thread".

kick ass guys!

i was a a LGS the other day, and they had an AK "pistol". they are NOT a class 3 dealer.

so, my question is, is this a loop hole that someone found to make a SBR, but call it a pistol?

i think i answered my own question, but i just want to make sure.

A pistol will not and cannot have a but stock. Add a but stock and its a rifle. If its a rifle it better have a barrel length over 16 inches or you had better have a tax stamp for said rifle.

Here is what you do... You build your pistol lower and build whatever length upper you want and shoot it.. Then you still shoot it while you turn in the paper work for a SBR on another lower and you keep shooting it until your paper work comes back 6-7 months later. Then you will have a pistol AR and SBR...

i am not one to assume, so i ask kinda dumb questions that i already know the answer to just to confirm my thoughts.
